OLT « OVNI Large Telescope » - 32" (810mm) f/3.5 mirror
The OLT « OVNI Large Telescope » is a new ground-based instrument for ultraviolet (UVA/UVB), visible (VIS) and near-infrared (NIR) astronomy operating with OVNI-M (monocular) and OVNI-B (binoviewer) eyepieces.
The 32" (810mm) f/3.5 mirror made by optician master Fausto Giacometti will be coated by the Italian Company ZAOT to get high reflectivity in the spectral range from 280nm to 1000nm. The 7" (177mm) secondary mirror will be manufactured by Romano Zen, while the structure will be built by Marco Guidi of DocTelescope.
The OLT should enter into operation from the first half of 2024 and will be located in the OVNI Night Vision Observatory, a truly unique and innovative obsevatory dedicated to night vision astronomy for visual observation, astrophotography, scientific research and space domain awareness.
The Observatory will open its doors in France in a few months' time, for the exclusive use of OVNI Night Vision users and partners around the world.
